MEET THE FOUNDER & Lead Surgeon

Dr. Zef Markaj

Zef G. Markaj is a Doctor of podiatric Medicine (DPM), a physician and surgeon who specializes in treating the foot, ankle, and related structures.

He is board-qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) and holds hospital privileges at multiple hospitals and surgery centers. Dr. Markaj is the founder of Cosmetic Foot & Ankle Surgery P.C and currently practices in Warren and Sterling Heights, Michigan.

Dr. Markaj's professional interest include minimally invasive surgery, vein procedures, forefoot and rearfoot reconstructive surgery, trauma, wound care, diabetic limb salvage, laser treatments, and sports medicine.

Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Markaj values spending time with his family, volunteering in the community, and advocating for community development through research, mentorship, networking, and business development.

Dr. Markaj earned his B.S. in Biology from Wayne State University

Earned his DPM from Barry University.

He completed his forefoot and rearfoot surgical residency at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Michigan.

Dr. Shana Gandhi

Dr. Shana Gandhi completed her undergraduate degree at Ohio State University and her doctorate at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. She then completed a three-year residency program at Beaumont Hospital, Farmington Hills, where she served as co-chief. She practiced in Lexington, Kentucky for a year before returning closer to home.

Dr. Gandhi is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and has extensive training in all areas of the foot and ankle, including sports medicine, diabetic foot care, and treatment of flatfoot, bunions, and other common foot and ankle pathologies.
